Postage Costs (UK)
We reserve the right to change the postage service you receive (at our own expense), if for example the items ordered are of a value that requires additional compensation. You will be notified of the change via email.
Standard Postage - Royal Mail 1st Class (non-tracked)
Order with weights from 0 to 200g - Postage is charged at £2.95
Order with a weight exceeding 200g - Postage is charge at £4.50

● Royal Mail 24 ®
Royal Mail 24® (formally known as 1st class) provides a fast and cost-effective delivery service and is offered as standard to our customers. Royal Mail 24® is not a tracked service but royal mail does aim to deliver your parcel the next working day to the whole of the UK. This service does not require a signature.
● Royal Mail Tracked 24 ®
Royal Mail Tracked 24® provides a UK-wide delivery service with online tracking included, so you can keep tabs on your parcel’s progress to your door. It is not a guaranteed 24 hour service but it is Royal Mails aim to deliver the next working day. This delivery commitment excludes the following postcodes; GY, HS2, IM, JE, KW16-17, PA61-PA75, PA78, PH30, PH41-PH44 and ZE2-3 where delivery may take longer. This service does not require a signature.
● Royal Mail Tracked 48 ®
Royal Mail Tracked 48® combines cost-effective UK-wide delivery with online tracking, so you can keep tabs on your parcel’s progress to your door. It is not a guaranteed 48 hour service but it is Royal Mails aim to deliver your parcel within 2 working days. This delivery commitment excludes the following postcodes; BT, GY, HS, IM, JE, KW, ZE2 and ZE3 where delivery may take longer. This service does not require a signature.
● Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed® 1pm
Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed® 1pm offers timed delivery by 1pm next working day with inclusive tracking, and a signature required on delivery (exclusions apply). This service comes with a money back guarantee if it should not arrive on time. To receive a refund you must notify us within 48 hours of your parcels arrival. Royal Mails tracking service will be used to determine this. The price for this service is based on weight and is calculated in the basket. 0-100g, 101g-1kg, 1kg-2kg, 2kg-20kg
Exclusions: Delivery by 5.30pm the next working day to postcodes: AB30-56, IV21-28, IV40,IV 52, IV54, KW1-14, PA28-38, PH15, 17-26, PH31-40, PH49-50, HS1, HS3-9, IV41-51, IV55-56, KA27-28, PA20 (0-9), PA41-49, PA60, PA77, KW15, KW16 (Stromness Town only), GY9 (Alderney only), ZE1 (Lerwick), HS3. Delivery after two working days by 5.30pm for postcodes: GY1, GY9 (Sark), HS2, PA61-75, PA78, ZE2-3. Delivery after 3 working days by 5.30pm on the third working day to postcodes: KW16-17, PH30, PH41-44.
● Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed® 9am
Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed® 9am offers timed delivery by 9am next working day with inclusive tracking, and a signature required on delivery (exclusions apply). This service comes with a money back guarantee if it should not arrive on time. To receive a refund you must notify us within 48 hours of your parcels arrival. Royal Mails tracking service will be used to determine this. The maximum weight for this service is 2kg.
Exclusions: Unavailable for delivery to Guernsey, Herm, Sark, Alderney and addresses on Isle of Man outside IM1 postcode area. As we are unable to deliver by 9am in the following postcode areas, please select instead Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm for postcodes to: AB30-39, AB41-45, AB51, AB53-56, AB52, BD23-BD24, BT35, BT44, BT47, BT51, BT53-54, BT70-71, BT76-77, BT81, BT92-94, DG7-9, HG3, HS1-6, HS7-8, HS9 Castlebay- Barra, IM (except IM1), IV (except IV1), KA27-28, KW, LA18, LA20, LD1-4, LD6, LN4-6, LN10, PA20-49, PA60-75, PA76-78, KW15 (Kirkwell Town), KV16 (Stromness Town only), PH 15 -29, PH30 -40, PH45 - 50, PH42-44, PH30-41, PL3, PL29, SY25, TR12-13, TR17-20, TR21-26, YO41, YO43, YO51, YO60, YO61, YO62, ZE1-3 and FK17-21. Where Royal Mail know from previous experience that a recipient is unlikely to be available to receive an item before 9am, then we may deliver the item by 9.30am. In these cases a the money back does not apply until 9:30.
● Interlink Tracked Courier (UK Mainland Only)
Orders can be sent via Interlink Tracked Courier (if an order is placed and payment is authorised by 1pm). Please select Interlink Tracked Courier as the delivery option on the basket screen. Interlink offer a service which is tracked, shows you a map of where your parcel is, what number in the queue you are and a estimated time of delivery.
● Parcel Force Express 24 (UK Mainland Only)
Orders can be sent "Guaranteed 1 Working Day Delivery" by Parcel Force 24 (if an order is placed and payment is authorised by 2:30pm). Please select 24hr Courier Placed Before 3pm option on the basket screen.
New Modellers Shop Ltd aims to provide same day dispatch on most orders placed before 4pm on weekdays. As standard all items are carefully boxed and shipped via Royal Mail 24 (1st Class) postal service and should be with you within 5 working days (more often than not, the next working day). If your item is not in stock it may take up to 10 working days for delivery. If their is going to be any further delays we will send you an email notification.
There are many reasons out of our control which may result in late delivery. If we discover a problem you will be emailed, but once the item has left New Modellers Shop Ltd it is down to Royal Mail or your selected courier, to deliver on time.
Additional Postage Terms And Conditions - Next Day and 48h Delivery
Orders of next day delivery must be placed before 1pm for delivery next day (Monday to Friday). Please note that orders placed on Friday (before the relevant times) will be delivered on the following Monday (not Saturday) and orders placed at the weekend will be sent on the Monday for delivery on Tuesday (Except when the delivery day is a bank holiday when orders will be delivered on the next working day). You will be emailed if items of your order are out of stock. If items are not in stock you will be given an estimated time of arrival and the option to cancel part or all of your order / have your additional postage refunded / or to send the items when they arrive.
Postage Costs (EU)
If you live outside of the United Kingdom postage will be charged at cost. Simply add the items into your basket and select your destination to find out the exact postage cost.
Postage Costs (Rest of the World)
Postage is charged at cost and is based on the size and weight of the items being ordered. We reserve the right to refuse to ship items to some international countries. We shall contact you via email if any items cannot be shipped for any reason.
We do not ship to the following destinations: United States, Canada, Africa, Central and South America

New Modellers Shop Ltd is aware that the packaging of models needs to be of a high quality for collectors. New Modellers Shop Ltd however cannot guarantee the condition of the packaging of the products. The packaging is designed to protect the model and not necessarily for its aesthetics. If you are a collector and need the boxes to be of a high standard please email me first (click here for email) and we will check the items in stock and inform you of the quality of the packaging. Many items come to us from manufactures and suppliers with imperfections on the packaging and this is why we are unable to guarantee the packaging's condition.
Pre Orders - Please order pre order items separately. If an order is placed which contains a pre order product, the order will not be dispatched until the order is fully complete. If you would like items to be sent which are in stock and pre order items to be sent once released, additional postage of £2.95 (UK Only customers) will be payable. (If outside of the UK please email us for a postal quote).
Orders Returned to Sender
New Modellers Shop Ltd reserves the right to charge postage for orders returned to us where a charge from the postal company is incurred. The re-sending of items will require an additional postal charge. The customer is liable for any orders shipped that are lost if an incorrect address has been supplied.

At no time does New Modellers Shop Ltd hold or see your card details when you place an order via our website. All details are inputted onto a secure site and only the order information is sent to us.
All cards will be automatically charged on receipt of an order, including items that are out of stock or pre-order.
If you would prefer to pay for the goods at the time they become available, please do one of the following
New Modellers Shop Ltd makes every effort to ensure the price on the website is correct. If for whatever reason the price stated on the website is incorrect we are not obliged to supply goods at the advertised price. Where this is the case you will be notified of the error giving you the option to cancel your order.
All prices are displayed inclusive of UK VAT and are payable in British Pounds. GBP
The distant selling regulations gives you the right to return any items within 7 days of ordering if for any reason you change you mind. The items must be returned to us un-opened and in the condition it was sent. New Modellers Shop will then refund you for the total value of your order including postage unless either; only part of the order was retuned or; a postage option other than standard delivery was selected, in which case postage will not be refunded. Return postage will not be refunded as we are under no obligation to do so under distant selling regulations.

If an incorrect item is sent to you and the item is returned unopened, we will refund you the cost of postage and send you the correct item if possible. If this is not possible we will refund you for the item ordered. Please contact us before you return the item so we can suggest the most appropriate method of postage. Normally we will only refund 2nd class post unless agreed in advanced. Please ask for a proof of postage certificate from the post office. This is free of charge.
If you have a problem with a Hornby model, you have three options.
Please contact us if you have a problem with your model as we can offer advice and suggest solutions which may solve your problem without the need to return it to us. Many models require general maintenance to keep them running well. Failure to do general maintenance may give you the impression that the model is faulty when it is not. New Modellers Shop will not compensate for the cost of returning a faulty item to us if it is found not to be faulty. This includes models that have been poorly maintained. New Modellers Shop reserves the right to charge (£) for the maintenance to be carried out to prove that the item is not faulty and to charge (£) for the cost of returning the item back to the customer. When you call us we will go through a list of possible solutions which if answered honestly will prevent you returning an faulty model.

A customers order is considered lost if it has not been received from the date of dispatch within the following timeframes:
Interlink Tracked Courier - 2 workings day
Interlink Tracked Courier - 7 working day
International Tracked - 5 working days
Stock Notification Descriptions
New Modellers Shop Ltd cannot guarantee that an item is in stock, even if an item is on our site and does not state that it is either "Not currently available", "On-Order" or "Discontinued" this does not mean that it is in stock. The website is updated constantly but as we also accept telephone orders there is the possibility that for a short period of time, the amount of stock displayed by the site may be incorrect. The site allows for items to be order which are not in stock, because we receive delivery's daily and items that were out of stock will be back in stock within a few days.

What does DCC Ready / DCC Fitted mean?
DCC Ready - The locomotive comes pre-fitted with a socket for a DCC chip to be plugged into.
DCC Fitted - The locomotive has already been pre-fitted with a DCC Chip.
VAT (Value Added Tax)
All prices on this site include UK VAT (20% as of the 4th January 2011)
VAT for Non-EU - Orders placed to countries outside of the EU will not be charged VAT
VAT for the Channel Island will not be charged so long as you select Jersey or Guernsey from the country list. IF you select United Kingdom you will be charged VAT but this will be refunded.
Knives and Solvent Based Products
The sale of Knives and Solvent Based Products are prohibited by Law (Within the UK) to those under 18 years of age. By adding any of these items to your basket your are confirming that you are over 18 years of age.
