Airfix - RAFBF Hawk 'Design a Hawk' Scheme - 1:72
(A50140)
After a phenomenal response to our 2013 ‘Design a Hawk'
competition conducted on behalf of the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, and
after days of scrutiny, the winning design was selected by a panel of judges
made up from the RAFBF and Airfix.
The winning design created by
14-year-old Heather Morien from Cramlington, Northumberland, was liked by
the judges because of its vibrant and fun use of the RAFBF colours. The
judges commented that there were so many excellent entries that selecting a
winner was particularly difficult, and they’d like to thank everyone for
taking part.
For her brilliantly colourful design Heather received a
mounted version of her model. Paint Scheme - Heather Morien RAFBF BAe Hawk
T1 Design.
The tandem two-seater Hawk T1 was the original version of the
Hawk used by the RAF, replacing the Gnat in the fast jet training role.
Deliveries commenced in November 1976.
